This Dart is the start of a tornado for sure! The 340 engine is bored .030" over, has 12.5:1
TRW Competition pistons, machined and blueprinted by James Gibson Machine. Other goodies
include Harland Sharp full roller rockers mounted on W2 heads, Hughes solid flat tappet cam,
MSD 6AL box contolling a Pro Billet distributor. TTI headers flow into 3" X-pipe to Flow Master
mufflers and out 2.5" tailpipes with correct original tips. The A-883 four speed trans has been
modified with Slick Shift synchros, Hurst shifted and fronted by a Centerforce dual friction clutch
and flywheel inside a Lakewood bellhousing. Power is transferred through a new driveline and
universal joints encased in a drive shaft loop (bolt in). A Dana 8.75 diff with Moser axles and
4.56:1 gear set houses a Detroit Locker. Rolling stock is factory original 14" Rallye wheels
with Hoosier Street Slickson the rear. Painted the original Plum Crazy with the white bumble
bee stripe on the rear flanks, housing an interior in black tiger stripe velour on bucket seats,
with a full factory gauge package in the original dash. Suspension is bushed throughout with
Polyurethane and completely detailed. Due to the high compression ratio, this unit requires 100
octane fuel exclusively. I cannot describe how hard this ride pulls through the gears - pure rush
of adrenaline at every shift!!
